Project 2025, part 3 tomorrow evening
Sincere thanks to those of you who attended part 2 of our series on Project 2025. Again, the number of people in attendance has vastly exceeded our expectations. The showing continues to reveal the demand in our community to understand this document and its role in the future of our country. For those of you who missed it, we are generating a transcript of the proceedings and we’ll make it available soon on our website: https://center.uccs.edu/cse/.
Please join us for part 3 of our series on Project 2025 tomorrow, Wednesday, July 23rd, 6:00-7:30 pm at First Congregational Church, 20 E. St. Vrain St. (downtown at the corner of St. Vrain and Tejon).
This event will address the local impact and implications of Project 2025 for our community and will feature a presentation by Steph Vigil and Chauncy Johnson. They will address language around education and family rights in Project 2025 and how its implementation is affecting (or will affect) our community.
Please note that this event will not be live-streamed, hence in-person attendance is the only way to attend. However, we will generate a transcript of the proceedings. And there will be a way to attend virtually for our 4th event on 7/30 featuring David A. Graham of The Atlantic. I will send out a Zoom link next week for that. Though in person attendance for the 4th event is welcomed.
Hope to see you tomorrow evening!
Steph Vigil is a former and future (her words!) state representative, an ex-vangelical, a community organizer and activist, and is currently serving as interim executive director at Citizens Project.
Chauncy Johnson is a 25 year-old Colorado Springs native. Raised by his great grandparents, Johnson is very involved in community and activism work. He has been a part of the protest in 2020 and beyond on many different issues regarding social justice. He also spent time working in the state government.
