Lecture this Friday, 2/7
Our First Spring Lecture
We are excited for our upcoming lecture this Friday, 2/7/2025, from Christopher W. Hunt, Assistant Professor of Religion, at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. We hope to see you there!
Released this January, Christopher W. Hunt’s new book Jimmy’s Faith: James Baldwin, Disidentification, and the Queer Possibilities of Black Religion explores the relationship of James Baldwin’s life and work to Black religion, asking what is Baldwin doing through his literary deployment of religious language and symbols? Jimmy’s Faith reveals how Baldwin imagines both religion and the world “otherwise,” offering a model of how we might do the same for our own communities and ourselves.
This event is free and open to the public. The lecture will begin at 6pm and will be followed by a public Q&A and a book signing.
